Layers of texture and chaotic tenderness intertwine, mirroring the complexities of loving someone through their traumas. The mask, also what i refer to as a  "Safe Face", is both a shield and a prison, a symbol of the guardedness we carry from past wounds. It is the quiet ache of wanting to create a safe space for someone, of offering a love deep enough to withstand their storms, yet feeling the guilt of your own guarded heart.

The neon glow of desire, the skeletal honesty of vulnerability, and the smudged remnants of longing symbolize that this piece echoes a love that was both consuming and fleeting. It is acceptance, it is yearning, it is the quiet devastation of knowing that even what appears to be purest love at first, can also be the bridge to leads to your demise. Fortunately though, it is my belief that in this lifetime we die a thousand deaths, and with each one we come closer to being the person we were meant to be.
